Let’s Get Lifted: How to SOAR in 2021

HAPPY NEW YEAR RADsters! 🥳🎊

It is so good to feel your vibes and energy, since well…We can’t see each other in person. We are several days into the new year. How is 2021 treating you so far? Have you been able to get on with your goals? Are you facing any challenges or just straight up tired and unmotivated? Do you feel like you’re already in a stalemate?

2020 was one interesting, unprecedented year for the entire Globe! Not ONE person could have called what we collectively experienced. It was mentally exhausting, physically and emotionally draining, and creatively bleh. Despite these experiences, there were some happy moments and memories I must say. I could list the bad that 2020 brought into my life; however, I prefer to count my blessings.

Personally, I was able to see the end of a two and a half year journey: I PASSED THE UNIFORM CPA EXAM!🙌🏾 Now, if you have been following this blog, you will know that over the last 3 years I have not been as consistent with posting new content. Well, now you FULLY know why!! I still cannot believe that journey is over. Let’s take a quick praise break and bless Jehovah for His awesome faithfulness in this Chica’s life!! 💃🏾💃🏾 He is WORTHY of all the praise I can give. Y’all, I’ll be honest, I did not think that I could do it!

But Moyo, aren’t you the one who encourages us? Don’t you tell us to have faith and believe we can do anything?

LISTEEEEEEEENNN this journey TESTED my Faith to the core! 2019 especially was just…sigh😔. Let us just thank God He carried me through to the other side. So yea, 2020 ended on a wonderful note for me, and I believe that it set the stage for ALL that 2021 has to offer. I’m so here for it!! Are you?!

As is customary a few days before we welcome in a new year, I meditated on what I wanted my 2021 to look like and how I wanted to see myself navigate the new year. Of course, whatever I desire or expect is not possible without the God-head. So as you can imagine, I spent this time with them (Father, Son, and Spirit) charting out 2021. During my meditation and prayer time, I received a revelation that I believe will not only help me but will also help you. 2021 is my personal year to DO. MOVE. LAUNCH!🚀 Projects or ideas I sat on in previous years, I plan to execute them by God’s grace this year. I am determined to shift from one level up to the next. Are you?

Let’s get lifted!

It is time to soar beyond what we can conceive or imagine. My bible tells me that God is able to do EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE all we can ask or imagine, so I’m not being fantastical with my statement (Eph. 3:20). IT. IS. POSSIBLE. And as far as I am concerned that is what I want. Do you?

If you are also interested in soaring and getting lifted in 2021, here is how:

  1. Humble yourself before God: Humility is one critical character trait to get in the position for elevation. 1 Peter 5:6 tells us to “Humble [our]selves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.” While it may not be listed as one of the fruits of the Spirit, it is certainly critical in our relationship with God. Here is another scripture- James 4:10 “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.” Humility is an act of submission, it is recognizing God’s sovereignty and deferring to it. According to Webster’s dictionary, humility is defined as “freedom from pride or arrogance,” and humble is defined as “reflecting, expressing, or offered in a spirit of deference or submission.” Both verses are essentially telling us “get humble and get lifted.”
  2. Receive Grace:  Grace, as is often referred to in Christianese, is God’s Resources At Christ’s Expense. Grace is such an incredible phenomenon, we’ll need a separate blog post to delve deeper. For the purpose of this post, Grace is God the Father’s gift freely given to us through Jesus Christ. Grace covers us and releases us from consequences we would otherwise deserve as sinners. Coupled with that redemption are the strength and ability to do what God expects of us. Well, how do we receive this grace? James 4:6 says “And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say,

“God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.”

YOU GOT IT! Back to Numero Uno. Without humility, we cannot receive grace, and without grace, we cannot DO. LAUNCH. MOVE. Once we receive this grace, however, we are able to consider, envision, and execute the things we are inspired to do.

3. Do the work: Remember how I mentioned that my CPA exam journey was 2.5 years long? Yea, I believe that it was that long because God needed to clear somethings in my little heart. God showed me my own heart and I beheld laziness. While most people would say that I was not the least bit lazy, there were areas of my life where I was applying faith but not doing the work required. I find that this is a narrative common to Believers. We cry, we pray, we fast, then what? We “wait.” We wait for a miracle without even taking ONE step toward realizing the vision of requests we made. We expect the blessings to fall in our laps because well…isn’t that what miracles are? James 2:14-26 clearly states to us the reality of faith without works: IT IS DEAD. Click here to read for yourself. So yea, we need to DO the work. “Moyo, well what if I don’t do the work, what’s the worst that could happen?” Well, you’d be sinning. Plain and simple. And no, this is not just me saying it, it’s bible. Check out James 4:17 “So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” <—- yup, in black and white!🤓 If you know what you need to do, to avoid it is S.I.N.

There you have it RADsters. The way to get lifted, the way to excel, the way to elevate and shift spaces in 2021 is by humbling yourself, receiving grace, and doing the work. Apply Pressure. It is time to shift from thinking and dreaming to DOING. Time to get in position!  Are you with me?!

LET’S MOVE,

Moyo

For your listening pleasure:

I’d like to provide an opportunity to those who are yet to meet with Jesus. If you have a deep desire to know Jesus and enter into the kingdom of God you are in great company. I did at some point in my life, and it was the greatest desire that God ever met!

I invite you to pray the sinner’s prayer: Dear Jesus, I accept that I am a sinner and I confess my sins before you. I believe that you died for my sins and rose again to give me a new life.  I ask that you forgive me of my sins; cleanse me with your precious blood which you shed on the cross of Calvary. I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Fill me up with your Holy Spirit and strengthen me. I profess that I am a new creature; old things have passed away and I have become new in You. Thank You, Lord! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!

If you prayed the prayer, WELCOME TO THE KINGDOM FAMILY!! You are a new creature, the old has passed and the new is here! Be sure to find a bible believing, Spirit-led church in your city and purchase a bible in a version that you understand. I use the  New Living Translation, Message, Free Bible, Christian Standard Bible, or the New International Version. Enjoy the journey!
