WHEN I DIE

Have you ever wondered what happens when we die? Ooo nooooo “God forbid!” “I will not die, but live to declare the glory of the Lord!” “With long life He will satisfy me!”

Are ya done? 👀

NEWS FLASH: We’re all gonna die… it’s inevitable, it’s the only other certain thing in life after change. The prayer is that we all die when we’re well into our 90s and 100s in Jesus’ name! 🙏🏾

Alright, now that your heart is still after being all stirred up and you’ve shabbached, if you’re still here: congrats! You’ve come to terms with the reality we all face MORTALITY. Every religion beneath heaven, on the face of the earth accepts that death is simply part of life, how ironic?

I think about it sometimes; death that is. I think “What really happens when we die? Where does our spirit (our being) go? Does it wander? Does it go straight to heaven? What happens?” 🤔

While I’m not here to tell you exactly how all that transpires when we cross the line between life and death/the afterlife, what I’ve heard and known all my life is that we transcend beyond the natural back into the spiritual. Yes “back” because we are all spiritual beings living in the natural realm. Like Jesus ☺🤗 Speaking of whom…this past Easter, I wondered “What if Jesus never resurrected from the dead? Wouldn’t He have just transcended back to heaven?” I mean He did leave heaven to come to earth…

🗣🎶“HE CAME FROM HEEEEEEAVEN TO EARTH, TO SHOOOOOOW THE WAY!”🎶

Right. So Jesus, 1/3 of the Triune God, came to earth, lived a perfect life, officially worked out His ministry for 3 years, and was then crucified. According to our Christian belief, that’s the perfect fare for a one-way ticket to the golden gates *cue Hollywood heaven music*

So even after He went to hell and took the keys of death and hell in His hands, conquered and won the victory in the spirit realm, couldn’t Jesus have slipped right up into heaven back to glory? What was really the significance of the resurrection? Why did Jesus actually need to rise up in flesh? In His mortal body?

Lemme tell you why!

Because in this world seeing is believing. Because here on earth we need physical manifestation or living proof of what God promised and has already done. Because God is not a God that lies neither is a man that He should repent. Because we need to “taste and SEE” that the Lord is good. Psalms 34:8 How would we see now if the world, 2018 years ago, didn’t SEE! Ooo catch it!!

How else could the natural reconcile the truth of The Word that “If you destroy this temple, in three days I will build it.” Or that “You will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” How were the Christians back then to be sure that God’s promises are indeed yes and amen? I think because the world is a world that relies on senses (sight, sound, touch, taste, e.t.c), the fulfillment of the greatest promise needed to be tangible.

It was necessary for everyone back then to feel, hear, and see what God promised. Both the Churched and the unchurched alike saw Jesus, IN FLESH after seeing Him die three day before. Even after He showed Himself, some still doubted like “Nah it can’t be true. Issa ghost!” Kind of reminds me of some of us after clearly seeing what God is showing right under our noses, we still say “show me a sign Lord”…oh, but I digress.

So while it was quite possible, logically plausible, that He would transcend to heaven while He was still in spirit form, Jesus had to resurrect in flesh. He had to show us that we. can. have.victory. in these mortal natural bodies. Come on somebody! You and I can and will conquer, overcome, triumph not when we get to heaven, but HERE ON EARTH!!! In flesh and blood. In real-time, GST, EST, CST, CPT, APT or whatever time zone you’re in.

*PRAISE BREAK!*

I may not be like other Christians, because sometimes when life gets so hard and challenging or when temptations come I think to myself, well Jesus was human, but he was also God so it was easier for Him. Well beloved, Jesus also resurrected in human form so that we can have hope and strength to do what He has commanded us on earth. Not only that, He gave the Holy Spirit as a gift to help us through. Check this out:

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” Romans 8:11 NLT I love the Common English Bible version, it says “If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your human bodies also, through his Spirit that lives in you.” Romans 8:11 CEB

Did you see that? He will give life to your human bodies. Not your spirit, but your body. Wooo I’m amped! Resurrection needed to be physical so that we can lay a hold on all spiritual blessings while we are HERE in the physical world.

I truly hope that you are catching this as you read it. The enemy can no longer have power over your flesh and body while you’re proclaiming strength in the spirit. I’ve heard people say “Well as long as my spirit and soul live for Christ, it doesn’t matter what the devil brings to my body, I’m strong spiritually.” While it is true that we must fear who can kill the soul not who can kill the body, My sista, my brotha, it’s high time you stopped allowing the devil to toy with your physical being because Jesus gave us access to victory in the physical realm too!

Claim It! Speak it! See it! LIVE IT!

I’d like to provide an opportunity to those who are yet to meet with Jesus. If you have a deep desire to know Jesus and enter into the kingdom of God you are in great company. I did at some point in my life, and it was the greatest desire that God ever met!

I invite you to pray the sinner’s prayer: Dear Jesus, I accept that I am a sinner and I confess my sins before you. I believe that you died for my sins and rose again to give me a new life.  I ask that you forgive me of my sins; cleanse me with your precious blood which you shed on the cross of Calvary. I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Fill me up with your Holy Spirit and strengthen me. I profess that I am a new creature; old things have passed away and I have become new in You. Thank You, Lord! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!

If you prayed the prayer, WELCOME TO THE KINGDOM FAMILY!! You are a new creature, the old has passed and the new is here! Be sure to find a bible believing, Spirit-led church in your city and purchase a bible in a version that you understand. I use the  New Living Translation, Message, Free Bible, Christian Standard Bible, or the New International Version. Enjoy the journey!
