Moving Hands and Hearts

In preparation to roundup the 3rd quarter of the year, I started reading the book of Matthew from chapter 1 as part of my annual devotions. Honestly, it’s almost like I got a new pair of eyes and a new mind to see words and understand events differently. As a child in Sunday school, I remember hearing about how Jesus healed the sick and gave sight to the blind, how He resurrected the dead and so forth.

The stories and miracles I read had one underlying theme. Story after story, healing after healing, Jesus repeated the same words. I thought to myself, didn’t people get tired of hearing them? I know the Saducees did😒. Despite seeming repetitive in nature, those words were true and potent!

“YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WHOLE.”

I couldn’t help but wonder how such a simple saying brought so much deliverance, liberation, and healing back then. I’ve heard many people say, “the times of signs and wonders are long gone” or “there are no more miracles in this era.” You know with all that’s happened in the past few weeks in the United States(Hurricanes and flooding), coupled with the many disasters around the world, one can’t help but wonder if the days of miracles, signs, and wonders are long gone. “GOD WHERE ARE YOU?!” 🗣

If you find that you fall in this category, allow me to refute or rather challenge your way of thinking and living. While reading Matthew recount Jesus and the disciples’ traveling adventures #TravelNoire –(yeaaa, I like to imagine Jesus lived on earth in modern times lol)– in any case, I learned that: Faith moves the heart and hands of Jesus.

Not that I never knew this, I mean come on, every child who has been to Sunday school heard at least once in his/her lifetime: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen,” or that “without faith it’s impossible to please God.” But really think about it, how often do we actually slow down, meditate, and WALK.IT.OUT.? I mean what’s the use of being a bible scholar who doesn’t apply what you can proudly recite without peeking into the Bible? Who memorization epp?  Last I checked, faith without works (action) is DEAD. Muerto. Mort. Finito…you get it. Hebrews 4:2 AMP “The message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not mixed with faith.” Faith changes everything, it’s the hand that receives blessings from God as I’ve heard.

Take for example the story of the Gentile Woman in Matthew 15. Her daughter was possessed with demons, hearing voices, wilding out and all, and the woman ran to Jesus pleading, begging, legit crying for Him to heal her daughter! You know what Jesus did? He ignored her because she wasn’t His priority(Israelite/sheep), so she was sent away😱😧 wait what? Yup that’s right, she was sent away (Read here). But check this out, this chick went back to Jesus and challenged His decision. The measure of her faith moved Jesus- “Dear woman, your faith is great. Your request is granted.” 💥🔥There’s another person who challenged God’s decision, he went by the name of Hezekiah. Homie was sentenced to death by Baba God Himself (2 Kings 20:1), but he decided in his heart not to accept that final say. If you read more of the story, you’ll discover that God added FIFTEEN whole years to his life!

you gotta undergo this procedure if not you’ll get brittle bones, your bones will break easily, you’re gonna have problems with your memory…

How many of us would’ve gone back to Jesus and said, “Excuse me Lord, I don’t accept your decision.” Or “remember my faithfulness Lord”? How many of us actually exercise radical, unwavering, unadulterated faith consistently?

“Well Moyo, it’s not that easy. You don’t  understand. You don’t know what’s it like to be in a hopeless situation. It’s easy for you to just write about walking out my faith, I have real life problems.”

Hmmm, in this 2017 o, I have seen faith move hands and hearts. I’m relearning! Let me share my permanent testimony with y’all right quick!! Eh ehm🎤

Remember in March, I shared with you the sicknesses the enemy thought it could bring into my life? If you don’t, click here to catchup. Welcome back!🙂 So about 2 months ago, my PCP essentially forced me to visit her for an annual “checkup.”Can ya say relentless?? Now you and I both know it wasn’t a typical check up; she was trying to slide in some followup time to find out why I refused to undergo surgery earlier this year…lol (don’t try this without crazy dope faith). So, I received the text alert confirming an appointment I never heard about; I smiled and said “ok then.”

July 27th, I stepped out of my car and placed my feet on The Solid Rock because He promises that by His stripes I, Moyosore Oluyinka, am healed. *Enters PCP* after addressing some things, I guess she saved her best for last, “well as of April your Calcium levels were still extremely high. You gotta undergo this procedure if not you’ll get brittle bones, your bones will break easily, you’re gonna have problems with your memory…” She insisted, and I insisted that we run a new test. PCP: “I don’t expect much to change, but we can try.” Me: “🙂We’ll see.” Mind you I had stopped taking medications prescribed, because quite frankly I’m not a medication compliant patient🤷🏾‍♀️, so that was a bogus declaration for me 🤣🤣. My mind was like girrrrlll if you don’t stahp! Truth is, if the tests came back as she expected, she was ready to schedule the procedure immediately. But while she spoke death into my health, I rejected every word, because I know God didn’t create me to have memory loss and broken bones…nah. DRY BONES COME ALIVE!!

2 weeks later… I got this voicemail.

I needed to save this as a reminder that, what hell meant for evil…….SHATA!!! God will use the same people who spoke negativity onto you to speak life!

I called my parents and we had a full blown thanksgiving on the phone! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 God is faithfullllll. Join me to thank God, healer of sicknesses, chain breaker, mighty deliverer!

Listen, when you know that you know that the God you serve is mighty!! When you know that you know that the foolishness of God is even wiser than the wisest of the world, you learn to challenge adversity. You become compelled to exercise faith, to stare sickness, lack, poverty, doubt in their ugly faces and stand your ground. “I know my redeemer lives!” “My faith has made me whole!”

Just try it. Visualize an area of your life in which you’re literally helpless, the most desolate of circumstances, and just try it! Put your faith to work! Miracles still happen, days of signs and wonders aren’t long gone. For as long as God is on the throne, we are moving in the season of miracles, signs, and wonders. We have the catalyst that can move the hands and heart of God. Challenge and claim yours!

Moyo

For your listening pleasure:

I’d like to provide an opportunity to those who are yet to meet with Jesus. If you have a deep desire to know Jesus and enter into the kingdom of God you are in great company. I did at some point in my life, and it was the greatest desire that God ever met!

I invite you to pray the sinner’s prayer: Dear Jesus, I accept that I am a sinner and I confess my sins before you. I believe that you died for my sins and rose again to give me new life.  I ask that you forgive me of my sins; cleanse me with your precious blood which you shed on the cross of Calvary. I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Fill me up with your Holy Spirit and strengthen me. I profess that I am a new creature; old things have passed away and I have become new in You. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, AMEN!

If you prayed the prayer, WELCOME TO THE KINGDOM FAMILY!! You are a new creature, the old has passed and the new is here! Be sure to find a bible believing, Spirit led church in your city and purchase a bible in a version that you understand. I use the  New Living Translation, Message, or the New International Version. Enjoy the journey!

Moyo! I needed to hear this message as I entered this week of uncertainty in all that I am stepping into. Faith, I dare to say, is the antiodote to my anxiety (although,I still feel it) and your post just reminded me of that.

    Thank You ❤️

P.S AMEN AND SHAAATTA to all your prayers 🙌🏾
