What’s good? How goes it folks?

‘Tis the season for all things printed and patterned; from floral prints to animal prints. So to commemorate the allure of Spring we will revisit a simple yet chic outfit that includes a beautiful print coat and an added scarf to spruce things up a bit.
Quite contrary to the bright and airy fashion posts we see during Spring Fever.

As you may be able to tell, this was in between seasons(the salt gave it away); Mid winter sorta kinda early Spring. Temperatures were in the high 50s- that’s perfect experimentation weather for any fashion curator, so I figured that layering a light coat and a scarf would do the trick to keep me warm while rocking a pencil skirt. *Ah the things we do for fashion* 

The beauty in this outfit is the contrast between the floral-esque print on the scarf and patterned coat along with the color combination of all the pieces. I guess you could consider it mixing prints? Haha. For obvious reasons, I chose the scarf because it coordinated well with the High waisted pencil skirt. As much as I don’t like to be too “matchy” with my outfits, I have a thing for tying the colors together. The black top is a lace crop top, and I needed a belt to secure the tucked top so…what better way to do that than with a belt, a knotted mint belt. I opted to go for a different color altogether, which I think added an eye-catching contrast to the entire visual. I also opted for a pair of mint chandelier earrings, adding a dainty touch as well.

What I truly love about fashion is that it gives everyone an opportunity to step out of his/her comfort zone to be creative. Breaking through the “rules” and “walls” of what not to wear. Any individual can think up an outfit and run wild with accessorizing it. I’m interested to see what you’ve done with mixing your prints and patterns.
