Treasure Chest

Hey Hey Lovlies!! How was your memorial day? How’d you spend it?

I spent mine catching up on some much needed rest. I have been up and about keeping busy…ugh…I detest that word. I just want to be FREEEEE to do what I want and explore the world at the same time :)..soon, very soon… Anyway, I’m not sure if I shared the newest news, but I started a new job in April as a Staff Accountant at a pretty cool firm. The work environment is simply incredible; everyone seems friendly and cordial. It’s been a mentally demanding month, but I’m so excited for what’s ahead!

Since I hadn’t posted in a while, I thought it’d be a good idea to wind down my memorial day with a flashback fashion post.

If you were to ask any woman about her closet I can assure you that she considers it a fashion treasure chest. I do. In every woman’s closet are one or two items that are her favorite fashion treasures; some of which are bargain pieces and others are splurge items. For every fashion treasure there is a day and setting that makes for the perfect moment to debut the golden piece.

That moment for me was on one of the most beautiful Fall days we had in Maryland. As you may be able to tell from the pictures, that day should have been a cold and dark, but we got quite the contrary; warm and sunny :). I thought it befitting to appreciate an uncanny Fall day with my favorite thrift find. I decided to pair it with one of my favorite black pencil skirts from H&M and a pair of tangerine slingback pumps to add some color to my outfit.

Lately Plato’s closet has been trying hard to convince me that thrifting is not as bad as I once thought it was. My random visits so far have awarded me with some amazing items that I never expected to find at any ole department store not to mention a thrift store. I almost gave up on my visit to the store when I noticed this gold patterned sleeveless blouse.  My eyes lit up immediately I found it, and I exclaimed “this is why I came!” lol any shopaholic would definitely understand the rush I felt right in that moment. The blouse was so different from what I had ever seen or owned; I couldn’t not buy it even though I had no business making a purchase at the time. You see, I convinced myself that just as a precious treasure is priceless this blouse, though it had a price-tag, was priceless and needed to find a home in my closet. The compliments I got for the blouse reassured me of the decision to make it mine. Its intricate golden embroidery and detail make it a timeless statement piece. I’m considering possibly visiting once every other weekend…yup it’s getting pretty serious! You never know what other treasures I could find, and I can’t afford to miss out on them 😉
